Huge, wild Al Caprawns, cooked and ready to go. The good news: these are definitely the largest cooked prawns you will find, and they taste as good as they look. The other news: being so large, the "vein" running from top to tail right through the middle of the meat (which is the prawn's last meal, making its way out) is hard to overlook. You will either want to remove the vein before serving - which involves shelling it - or have some finger bowls around the table where your diners will be able to give the prawns a quick rinse after they have done the removal job themselves. Our pack explains how to remove the vein. All sounds a bit complicated? Then you need either Indian Ocean prawns, where the vein is modest, or peeled king prawns - cooked, which have no vein (or shell or head). But neither is as exciting a looker.
