We have recently dropped the old "black tiger" prawn from Asia in favour of a newcomer from Ecuador which is farmed to very high standards verging on "organic". It looks identical but we think the taste is significantly better. THESE PRAWNS ARE VERY LARGE! Please note that unlike many other sites, we quote you the defrosted weight, not the gross weight. King prawns have a protective ice glaze, which melts away when you defrost them. Some suppliers add a very thick glaze, to make their prawns seem cheaper.
