One of the finest of all fish. Similar meaty texture to the tuna, but white rather than dark. However, there are a couple of drawbacks... few swordfish are free of worms; they are tiny and harmless, and when processing the fish, we do our absolute best to ensure that your steaks are free of them, but we cannot guarantee it. You should also know that swordfish has a greater tendency than most other fish to take in and retain mercury. This should only be an issue for those particularly susceptible to mercury (such as your baby, if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant or are a nursing mother, in which case, just do not take the risk), or eat too much of it ? say two steaks a week (in which case the mercury might kill you off in 50 years or so). If that hasn't put you off, we can assure you this is a remarkably good fish and everyone should try it at least once.
