Product Information
  • One fish per pack
  • Traditionally smoked finnan haddock
  • Comes from a family haddock smokery in Grimsby

Rick Stein: ’smoking makes haddock special, and Finnan haddock is the most special of all.’ This is on-the-bone smoked haddock, originally ’invented’ in the village of Findon, which you will find about five miles down the coast from Aberdeen. Ours, however, comes from our favourite family haddock smokery in Grimsby. One fish per pack.

Buying Guide
Price per kilo £33.26/kg

(Based on our price for 1 pack. Multi-pack prices are lower.)

The following is a general buying guide covering our “other smoked” range:

  • Serving guide – (main course) 150-200g for no bones fish; for whole fish allow up to 350g
  • Typical freezing date – 6 months before despatch, except prawns, 12 months
  • Typical Best Before date♦ – 6 months after despatch

  • Ready to eat - eel, scallops, halibut, mackerel, trout, cod roe, buckling, sprats, prawns, tuna
  • Cook before serving - kippers, smokies, haddock, bloaters
  • Contain many bones - kippers (even kipper fillets), smokies, Finnan haddock, whole fish (eg trout)
  • No bones - eel and trout fillet, haddock steaks, scallops, halibut, tuna, prawns
  • In slices like smoked salmon – tuna, halibut
  • Oily – kippers, bloaters, buckling, eel, sprats, trout, mackerel

♦ Please note that best before dates are not expiry dates. Frozen fish does not go off on its best before date - it will remain perfectly palatable for several more months. Nevertheless, ideally you should eat our frozen fish within three months of receiving it. The best before date refers to industrial storage which is colder and more effective than home storage.
