Kippers - Craster - 1 Pair
- Order number: 321205
- 2 traditional Craster kippers, no artificial colour, additives or dye
- Warm and serve with fresh bread, the perfect breakfast
- We recommend 1 pack to serve 2 people
- Kippers are hot smoked split herrings
These kippers are from Robson's of Craster, they've been our main kipper supplier for decades. We think these are the best kippers for sale online. Their herring is sourced from the North Atlantic, precision selected for the exact right oil content for kippers, then smoked over blended hardwood to give a wonderful flavour and golden sheen. And the full complement of those kipper-defining bones. You will be pleased to know there is not a drop of dye on these kippers, 100% naturally smoked. Serve them up grilled on a Sunday morning with toasted thick-cut granary bread and poached eggs. Not so keen on bones...? you may want to look at the kipper fillet variety of this item
Sustainability – Our rating 8/10
These are produced from Norwegian herring. Norway has one of the world’s most advanced fishing sustainability setups. MSC certification was withdrawn from the fishery in 2020 due to Norway and its neighbours not having a sharing agreement. However, ICES considers the stock very healthy.
