This recipe was invented in 1889 by Jules Alciatore who ran a restaurant in New Orleans. The restaurant is still there today and its world-famous creation - named after the richest man of those times - is still at the top of the menu. The main ingredient is spinach but the overall blend of onion, butter, Tabasco, Pernod and lemons give Oysters Rockefeller a very special dimension. It’s no coincidence this recipe has become a regular in all the best restaurants. We have concocted a faithful reproduction which we make ourselves. Each pack contains half a dozen oysters in their shells - giving you two first course servings. To serve, reheat from frozen for 12 minutes.
