An exciting crab recipe to delight your guests, great showpiece or as a starter. Easy to prepare and loved by most, a whole cooked crab with the sweetness and softness of mango and avocado in a thai style sauce.

Mango, ginger and soya dressed crab with avocado

Cooked Crab recipe with avocado, grapefruit and mango in a Thai dressing, a summer starter which will delight anyone who loves crab.

Ingredients

1 whole cooked crab

1 ripe mango, diced

1 tbsp lazy ginger

1 tsp fish sauce

1tbsp soy sauce

juice and zest of one lime

1 tbsp mayonnaise

rocket leaves

ripe avocado

 

Cooking steps

Step 1

Break down the crab and pick the meat keeping the white meat separate for the brown and the crab shell for presentation. You can find video tutorials on how to do this on youtube.

Step 2

In a bowl with the white meat combine the mango, ginger, fish sauce, soya and juice of the lime, stir gently to evenly coat everything

Step 3

In a bowl with the brown meat stir in the mayonnaise and lime zest, season generously with salt and pepper

Step 4

Arrange the rocket on a plate and sit the crab shell on top. Spoon the brown meat mixture into the bottom and follow with the white meat and mango mixture. Finish with wedges of avocado and lime.
