Albacore tuna, also known as white tuna / atun blanco and bonito del norte (scientific name thunnus alalunga), is pretty special. It's a cut above yellowfin tuna - the flesh is finer and much lighter in colour (hence white/ blanco) with its own distinct taste. The albacore is fished in many oceans. Our current stock is from British Columbia and the quality is absolutely superb. These loins are 30-35cms long; allow 100g to 200g per serving.

Sustainability - our rating 8/10

Our albacore tuna are caught from a sustainable fishery in the North East Pacific Ocean. They are caught using hook and line, a very selective, non-destructive fishing method. This fishery has been purposefully landing less than the maximum sustainable yield to manage the fishery and positively grow the albacore stock.
