What you’ll need

  • 4 cod fillets (about 150g each)
  • 50g white sesame seeds
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 200g noodles of your choice, cooked
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 2 tablespoons fresh ginger, grated
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 4 spring onions, finely sliced
  • 100g baby spinach leaves
  • Soy sauce, to taste
  • Sesame oil, for drizzling

Step 1

In a shallow bowl, mix soy sauce, sesame oil, and honey. Brush the cod fillets with this mixture, then season with salt and pepper.

Step 2

Press the white sesame seeds onto the fillets to coat them evenly.

Step 3

Heat a non-stick frying pan over medium heat, add a splash of vegetable oil, and place the cod fillets in. Cook for 3-4 minutes on each side until the crust is golden and the fish is cooked through.

Step 4

While the cod is cooking, heat the vegetable oil in a wok. Add the grated ginger and garlic, and sauté until fragrant. Add the cooked noodles and toss through the spinach until just wilted. Season with soy sauce.

Step 5

Divide the noodles among plates. Top with the sesame-crusted cod, drizzle with a little sesame oil, and garnish with the sliced spring onions.
