Smoked Cod Roe Taramasalata with Crudités
This classic Turkish and Greek recipe is made with smoked cod roe and unlike any store bought varieties as it has a creamy beige colour - as well as tasting fantastic!
BUY SMOKED COD ROE HEREWhat you’ll need
- 125g of cod roe
- 50g of white breadcrumbs
- 100ml of milk
- 1 garlic clove, crushed
- 2 tsp Dijon mustard
- 3 tbsp of water
- 225ml of grapeseed oil
- 3 tbsp of extra virgin olive oil
- 1 lemon
- Salt
- White pepper
Let's Cook!
Step 1
Soak the breadcrumbs in milk. While soaking, blend the garlic with the roe, mustard, salt and water in a food processor. Drain the breadcrumbs and add to the food processor.
Step 2
Blend the mixture, slowly adding the grapeseed oil a little at a time, then add the olive oil. Squeeze in the lemon juice and blend. Season to taste with white pepper, pour the mixture into a bowl, cover with cling film and refrigerate until needed.
Step 3
Serve with a selection of crudités inc, cucumber, celery, carrot etc.
