Classic Smoked Salmon Bagel
What you’ll need
- 2 bagels, halved and toasted
- 4 tablespoons full-fat cream cheese
- 100 grams FishRJumpin cold-smoked Scottish salmon
- 0.5 lemon, cut into wedges
- 0.3 red onion, thinly sliced
- 1 tablespoons capers, drained
- 0.5 teaspoons black pepper
- 1 tablespoons fresh dill, chopped
Let's Cook!
Step 1
Toast the bagels: Halve the 2 bagels, halved and toasted and toast until golden and crisp.
Step 2
Spread the base: While still warm, spread each bagel half generously with 4 tablespoons full-fat cream cheese.
Step 3
Layer the salmon: Drape the 100 grams FishRJumpin cold-smoked Scottish salmon loosely over the cream cheese in soft folds rather than flat sheets — this gives better texture and bite.
Step 4
Add the toppings: Scatter over the 0.3 red onion, thinly sliced and 1 tablespoons capers, drained, then finish with a good grind of 0.5 teaspoons black pepper and a scattering of 1 tablespoons fresh dill, chopped.
Step 5
Finish and serve: Squeeze over a wedge of 0.5 lemon, cut into wedges just before eating. Serve open-faced or closed, immediately.
