Haddock is a cousin of the cod, but with slightly richer flesh. It's found in the same fishing grounds as cod, in Norway, Iceland and UK - especially Scottish - waters. It's gorgeous cooked from raw but possibly even more gorgeous when smoked. We sell haddock fillets and fillet steaks, as well as smoked haddock fillet, Finnan haddock and Arbroath smokies, not to mention three kinds of haddock fishcake. Smoked haddock also the traditional ingredient for kedgeree, the famous Indian-inspired recipe with rice and egg. See Fishopedia.
Local fishmongers are great, but where are they? Supermarkets have fish, it doesn’t make the cut! The best fish? We’ve got you.
