Cruscana French Pâté Trio – Lobster, Shrimp & Smoked Salmon (3 x 100g)
£11.00
  • Three 100g glass jars of Cruscana French pâté: lobster, shrimp and smoked salmon
  • Ambient: they live in the cupboard until opened, then in the fridge
  • Spread on warm blinis or thin toast. One jar covers a pack of 16 mini blinis thinly, which is canapés for four, so the three together will see off a decent party

Cruscana's lobster pâté is what the French call beurre de homard, and the other two follow the same idea: shellfish or smoked salmon worked into something smooth and spreadable. We'll be honest, these are spreads, not slabs of lobster tail, and nobody is pretending otherwise. What they are is the easiest canapé you will make this Christmas, and they keep in the cupboard until you need them (which is more than can be said for the guests).

Put the three jars out with a knife each and let people work out their favourite. Shrimp tends to go first.

Our mini blinis and Coombe Castle crème fraîche are what we'd put them on.
