Coquille Saint Jacques (Oven-Baked)

  • 30 minutes

What you’ll need

  • 2 Coquille Saint Jacques (in scallop shell)
  • 2 lemon wedges
  • 1 teaspoons fresh parsley, chopped (optional, to garnish)
  • 2 cups green salad or steamed vegetables, to serve
  • 2 crusty bread (optional)

Let's Cook!

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 190°C (170°C fan) / 375°F / Gas Mark 5.

Step 2

Prepare the shells: If frozen, you can bake from frozen (allow extra time) or defrost in the fridge overnight first for a more even bake. Place the 2 Coquille Saint Jacques (in scallop shell) shells on a baking tray, sauce-side up.

Step 3

Bake until golden and bubbling: Bake in the centre of the oven until the top is golden and the filling is bubbling hot throughout — about 30 minutes 30:00 from chilled, or 40-45 minutes from frozen. Check the centre is piping hot before serving.

Step 4

Rest briefly: Remove from the oven and let stand for 2 minutes 02:00 — the filling will be extremely hot straight out of the oven.

Step 5

Garnish and serve: Scatter over the 1 teaspoons fresh parsley, chopped (optional, to garnish) and serve each shell with a 2 lemon wedges wedge alongside 2 cups green salad or steamed vegetables, to serve, and 2 crusty bread (optional) if you like, for a light main or starter.
