Blue Cod

Blue cod was the name given to this fish when Captain Cook first ate it when discovering New Zealand. That's the only place it's found and it is totally unrelated to Atlantic cod, but the name stuck. It's highly regarded by Kiwis... "small sweet fleshy flakes and the flavour is divine", according to NZ food blogger Peter Gordon. I have eaten it and it was excellent. But the catches are very small and our supplies intermittent. So try blue cod now, if we have it in stock.
