Wild Icelandic Cod Liver - Pack of 12 (12 x 115g tins)
- Twelve 115g tins of wild Icelandic cod liver, cooked in its own oil
- Spread it straight from the tin onto hot toast, or blend with lemon zest and dill for a quick pâté
- Cupboard-stable until opened, so a dozen tins sit happily at the back of the cupboard
Wild Icelandic cod liver is the nearest thing the sea has to foie gras, for about the price of a coffee. The French call it foie de morue and serve it as they would foie gras, on toast with something sharp alongside. We'd be lying if we said it converts people who don't like oily fish. It won't. Everyone else tends to buy it by the dozen, so a dozen comes in at about 10% less than buying the tins singly.
It's naturally rich in vitamins A and D and in omega-3. That vitamin A is also why it isn't recommended during pregnancy, or if you're planning one.
Keep the tins in the cupboard; once opened, cover and keep in the fridge. If you're a regular, the case of 48 is cheaper again per tin; if twelve is a lot, there's a pack of 6.
