- Six English oysters in a 400g pack, already shucked
- Opened by high-pressure processing (HPP), so no oyster knife is needed
- Grill with garlic butter until it bubbles, or serve raw with lemon
- One pack serves one or two
The hardest part of an oyster has always been getting into it. These English oysters have been opened for you by high-pressure processing, so there is no knife involved (and no trip to A&E), and nothing is lost to a slipped blade.
They are frozen, which means they are not alive and will not open and close the way a live oyster does. We would not pretend they are the same as one shucked on the harbour wall. But grilled with garlic butter, or baked Rockefeller-style, nobody at your table will be having that argument.
Three ways we like them
Raw: a squeeze of lemon and a spoonful of mignonette (vinegar, finely chopped shallot and black pepper).
Grilled: melted butter, garlic and parsley on each one, under a hot grill until the butter bubbles and the edges just char.
Rockefeller: spinach, breadcrumbs, butter and Parmesan on top, baked until golden.
Defrosting
Defrost in the fridge before serving. Don't refreeze.
Questions
Are they alive?

Where are they from?
English waters. They're farmed.
